Keyboard
We have a few friends that are in the "1-to-2-finger-hunt-and-peck" class of keyboarders. When the keyboard is flat on the table, they constantly shift their head position to see what they are typing and what they typed. I had them prop up a keyboard with a Mini Riser so they only have to shift their eyes, not their head. Much easier.
If the table surface is slick, the keyboard will need to be stabilized along the bottom edge. Here are some ideas:
- Wedge a foam wrist rest along the bottom edge of the keyboard.
- Stick some low-profile, adhesive-backed bumpers on the bottom edge of the keyboard so it grips the table. (Typically found at hardware stores.)
- Get some 1/2 inch clear, vinyl tubing and cut a 1 inch section. Then cut the section in half, long-ways, forming 2, long, C sections. Tape each section to the bottom edge of the keyboard using double-stick foam tape (or similar).
Important: I would only consider this for those "1-to-2-finger-hunt-and-peck" users. This would be inappropriate for touch-typist since it would force your wrists to be at a sharp angle. (PIC 1-5)
