Patreon & Sponsor Policies

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to change, modify, add or remove portions of these policies at any time. If changes to these policies are made, we will publicly announce the changes on Patreon. Otherwise, it is your responsibility to check these policies periodically for changes. Your continued support through Patreon following the posting of changes, constitutes acceptance of, and agreement to, the changes.

Exclusive Content/Interaction

1. Access to exclusive content/interactions is limited to patrons of Laboratory 424.
2. Content may include (but not limited to): photos, drawings, build/design files, video, commentary, and build instructions.
3. Some content may appear in the public, outside of Patreon.
4. Depending on your chosen Patreon reward level, your access to content may vary. See our Patreon page for details.
5. We reserve the right to change the Rewards offered at any time.

Inventions & Ideas

1. Inventions and ideas may not be new/unique. (We cannot be 100% sure that someone hasn't already implemented it. Earth is a big place.)
2. The number of inventions/ideas released per month will vary.
3. Occassionally, we may create copies of an invention prototype and offer them through our store, give them away, or use another distribution mechanism. Patreon supporters will usually have first access. The number of copies created will vary.

Invention Prototype Fulfillment

1. Invention prototypes purchased through our store follow our Order, Shipping, Return Policies.
2. If another form of "prototype disribution" is used, fulfillment details will be disclosed at that time.
3. If you are chosen to receive a free copy of an invention, we will contact you through Patreon or email with instructions.
   1. You will have 3 days to respond. If we don't receive a response in that time, someone else will be chosen.
   2. We will ship the invention to you at our cost and provide tracking (if available). You will be notified when it ships with tracking information (if available).
   3. We typically ship USPS Firstclass/Priority mail (domestic and international), or UPS ground (domestic only) in some instances. If you want a different, faster shipping service you will need to pay for the service.
   4. If the package is returned to us, we will notify you of delivery failure. You may arrange to have it reshipped at your cost.
   5. Securing the package at the destination is your responsibility. We will not ship another copy if the package is lost/stolen/missing after delivery.
   6. International shipments:
      1. Shipment may be subject to import fees which are your responsibility.
      2. Your shipment will be marked as a "gift" valued at $0, or the approximate value of the parts used in the construction (whichever is deemed appropriate for the destination country).
      3. It is your responsibility to check if the invention is allowed through customs. Some countries restrict what can enter the country. We are not responsible for "seized" packages by customs.
      4. We may not be able to ship to your country. If we cannot ship to your country, we will notify you to make other arrangements.
      5. Tracking information may vary in your country. We will not ship another copy if the package is lost in transit after exiting the USA.

Invention Saftey Warning and Disclaimer

1. We do not warrantee the fitness nor use of the invention. It is considered a prototype for educational/scientific purposes only and should be treated as such.
2. We will disclose the contents and processes involved in creating the invention to help you evaluate it's fitness for your use.
3. Parts, material handling, and use of the invention is your responsibility.
4. Invention may be inappropriate for children, animals, and some adults.
5. Each invention will ship with a printed safety warning and disclaimer. If you gift/sell the invention to another person you must included the safety warning and disclaimer with the invention. Contact us if you need another copy of the safety warning and disclaimer.
6. If you feel the invention is inappropriate for your use, either dispose of it in a responsible manner or return it to us. Contact us to proceed.

Sponsor Cloud

1. By supporting us through Patreon or donation you may enter your name/nickname and a quote in the Sponsor Cloud.
2. Adding your name and/or a quote is optional.
3. Colors of names are as follows:
   1. RED - Patreon Tier 1
   2. GREEN - Patreon Tier 2
   3. BLUE - Patreon Tier 3
   4. ORANGE - Donation
4. Relative size of names (1-9) are based on accumulated contributions determined by this normalization formula:
   1. Size = 9*[(Your Total Contribution - Smallest Contribution)/(Largest Contribution - Smallest Contribution)]
   2. Values rounded to nearest whole number.
   3. For small data sets (startup case), 0 will be used for smallest contribution.
5. Placement in the cloud is randomized on each page reload.
6. If contribution is through Patreon, you will stay in the cloud as long as you contiue your subscription.
7. If contribution is through donation, your length of time in the cloud is 30 days from time of donation or until we update the cloud. Whichever is longer.
8. The cloud is updated periodically, usually at the end of the month.
9. Submitting your name/quote:
   1. Patreon: Each month, you will be contacted through Patreon requesting a name/quote. You have three days to submit a new entry or update the existing (if renewing). Names/nicknames must be unique. A numeral will be added to the end of the name/nickname if duplicates exist.
   2. Donation: When you submit your donation payment there will be a message box on the payment screen. Add your name/nickname and a quote if desired. Names/nicknames must be unique. A numeral will be added to the end of the name/nickname if duplicates exist.
10. Names and quotes content:
    1. No URL's.
    2. No Nasties (profanity, slurs, shaming, etc), political, religious quotes.
    3. Names should be 40 characters or less. Quotes should be 128 characters or less.
    4. I recommend saying something meaningful, abstract, thought provoking, supportive to the human race.
    5. If we feel a name/quote is innapropriate, the entry will be withheld silently.
    6. Allowing quotes in the cloud does not mean we agree nor disagree what is being said. We are observers, nothing more.

Refunds

1. We do not offer refunds on subscriptions or donations due to the nature of the transaction.
2. Refund requests on products purchased in our store are handled through our Order, Shipping, Return Policies .

Disclaimer

Use of project plans, suggestions, parts, supplies and invention prototypes provided by Laboratory 424, LLC, is at your own risk. Use of the final product resulting from the project is at your own risk. Laboratory 424, LLC disclaims all responsibility for any resulting damage, injury, or expense.
