We use an edge of a table (or similar) to separate Tool Dots:

1. Place the Tool Dots on an edge of a table so that one Tool Dot is hanging over the edge.
2. Push down with your thumb to roll or slide the Tool Dot off the other.
3. Grab each Tool Dot with your fingers.
